Going through the waters of baptism is a significant step in the life of a believer.  Baptism is a public declaration of a life committed to Jesus Christ and a step of obedience in response to the command of Jesus.  At Move Church, baptism is not considered a saving ordinance.

What you need to know about baptism:

  • Baptism illustrates Christ’s death and resurrection as well as the new life of a believer.
  • Baptism follows the example set by Jesus Christ.  Jesus commands his disciples to be baptized as a sign of their belief in Him.
  • Every person who has believed and accepted the truth of Jesus Christ should be baptized.
  • Baptism should occur as soon as someone becomes a believer.
  • Baptism is done by full immersion because Jesus was baptized by immersion along with every other baptism in the bible.  The word ‘baptize’ means to dip under water.
